I am looking for a practical way to photograph skin tone under stable light. I have noticed that automatic settings can hide the differences I am looking for. I want to begin in even daylight instead of mixing several light sources. I intend to leave off filters, flash, portrait mode, and beauty adjustments. A grey card or plain white paper may give me a useful reference in each frame. I will not make a decision from one session if the light feels unusual. A quick skin undertone test camera would help me keep the setup consistent while I gather my own observations. There are obvious limits to comparing colour through a camera and screen. Looking at matched photos together should reveal whether the change is actually consistent. What small step has made your own phone photos more consistent? I am especially interested in advice that does not require special equipment. I will use the same setup again before I compare the images with anyone else. I am grateful for straightforward advice that avoids overpromising.
